Description:
The purpose of this project was to automate processing and measuring
procedures of handling images from mobile mapping systems, which integrate
GPS/INS and photogrammetry techniques. The software package ImagExpert
performs automatic or semi-automatic recognition of image features and
sequences. The following characteristic functions are designed for ImagExpert:
traffic white lines on the highways can be automatically followed; profiles
and surfaces along the highway can be generated automatically; the interesting
objects located on the sides of the highway can be semi-automatically reconstructed;
the highway related objects e.g. fire hydrants, poles, road signs, manholes,
and text should be recognized and located.
