Navit & Frmwk

Sponsor: Public Works Canada (PWC, West Region)
Project period: 1993-1994
Principal Investigator: Dr. Ron Li
Project Team: L. Qian

Description:

This project was to improve the user interface and to optimize the hydrographic data processing procedure at PWC. There were a dozen of different software packages running at PWC, with different styles. Frmwk is a general framework which provides a consistent, menu based environment for invoking these packages. It frees users of the effort of remembering various commands and installation details. Navit is an independent package for processing Navitronics hydrosweep data. It replaces an existing package SS93, which is DOS based and has a lot of limitations. Running in Windows, Navit provides a friendly interface and strong processing functions, including interactive editing, multiple mode of display, sophisticated algorithm of gridding, processing result checking, etc. All these functions are accessible from an integrated environment
